Summertime is hot! Sometimes a little too unbearable. But its also a great reason to get outdoors and even pull away from excessive technology. Life happens and its worthy of being captured by the photographer. This is why I love street photography. It allows me to capture those fleeting moments regardless of the backdrop locations that may have been overdone. There’s no such thing as overdoing a location when unique fleeting moments are captured. It is those moments that are pure gold to the photographer eye.

Besides the obvious beach going shots, summer enables unique opportunity for those shaded hikes through forests, walks through quaint villages, and outdoor events such as flea markets and concerts. All of which add to the allure and uniqueness that every photographer looks for.

Summer brings thunderstorms but after the storms, that fleeting “blue hour” evening skies are simply delicious! I love to prop up a tripod, set longer shutter speeds, open the aperture which in my case is f/1.8 to 2.8 depending on my lens in my arsenal and just take those slow-sync flash shots to capture both front lit and background lights at the same time.
